Chester's Food Pantry

Food Pantry is produced in Echo through the generosity of local  citizens, Amstad Farms, River Point Farms and in cooperation with Agape House of Hermiston and, during the holidays, City of Echo.   Pantry is staffed with Kiwanis volunteers who welcome other helpers when they are available.  Donations welcome.  Please make checks payable to: Echo Kiwanis, Chester's Pantry, PO Box 91, Echo OR  97826.

Food boxes are prepared for pickup by needy patron clients.

Sign up is required for food pantry clients.  Forms are at the front door.  Location is the Echo Masonic Hall

Excepting occasionally for a holiday week, Chester's Food Pantry is usually held on the last Wednesday of the month.  Doors open at 4:00.

The pantry project was started in February of 2010; founded by Echo Kiwanis inspired by Chet Prior.  On the average, about 23 households and 65 persons are provided food goods, each month.  In 2015, the food pantry project was named in memory of Chester Prior who personally worked, as we continue to work, towards the goal of having no hungry people in Echo.

Our volunteers will deliver to those who are not able to get to the Masonic Lodge to make the pickup.  If you need a delivery and can not come to the Masonic Lodge, send us an email the day before or give us a call during operating hours at 541.379.5981.
